Blacklight is a fairly unique shooter where all players have access to see through walls at any time during the game. This feature seems more to help stop the camping problem most shooter suffer from where just one lone sniper is in a very hard to reach spot and can just kill players without fear of ever getting caught and the solution to see through the stage works wonders. You can only use the ability for a short amount of time and then there is a recharge timer for it to come back up and while you are using it you can’t shoot so stops people from doing it all the time and killing players while using the ability. The other unique thing the game has is depots that are spread throughout the stage and from the depot you can get a special items such as a flamethrower, rocket launcher, health pack, ammo, and mech…yes you can buy a mech. Once you get roughly 1,300 in-game/in-match credits you get a gun that allows you deploy a mech as long you are out in the open. With the mech you shoot rockets and a mini gun at anyone who stands in your way and it mostly guarantees you a string of kills unless the enemy is set with a rocket launcher and is just waiting for you. Though if you die with any of the special items on you they drop on the ground and anyone can pick them up so if you buy a mech then die you lose it.
The game looks a lot better then I thought it would but that’s mainly because I’m still in the mind set that free to play games are cheap low budget games but that has not been the case for at least four years now as free to play is the way to go and developers and publishers are finding out they can make more money with them being free.
So if you are looking for a fast paced and well controlled shooter this game is for you.
