Review: Sons of the Forest

 Almost a perfect game.

It needs more direction and the ability to not miss weapons. it's very easy to go through the entire game and miss the stun baton (in the trailer) along with a lot of blueprints and other story important items. It does not teach you how to use GPS items either.

The game is fantastic but it's so annoyingly rough around the edges for no reasons and the base building is great and complex enough to let you do what you want...but there is almost no reason to actually build a base and farming...etc in the base is not worth the time. Most of the items you will find to create posion arrows, health herbs...etc are going to be limited to either you farming only those for a bit and/or you are just a slave to where you decided to create a base.

The game limits information for no real reason and give others to you freely. Give me an almost impossible to miss note (like so many others) to say "Hey Bob, I dropped my shotgun here"...etc"

Once again, the game is so fucking good but after beating it there is a lingering bad taste on just what you know you missed or didn't know because they held back information for no reason and I am a firm believer that a player should never want to or have to leave the game and look up information about the game.
